Are You Maximizing Your PAG-IBIG Loyalty Card Benefits?

I think I may have been seriously underutilizing my PAGI-BIG Plus Loyalty Card. I have always used it for a 5% discount at McDonald's but I wasn't really using it much beyond that. It turns out, I was barely scratching the surface. 

First of all, I'm sure it is obvious but the PAG-IBIG Loyalty Card doubles as a savings account ATM card. Depending on your choice, it’s powered by either UOB or UnionBank, as the two partner banks.

A quick visit to the official list of partner establishments here 

(https://www.pagibigfund.gov.ph/loyaltycardPlus/) revealed a surprisingly extensive array of discounts and promos. The list spans food establishments, health and wellness services, hospitals and clinics, school tuition discounts, hotels, and resorts. However, remember to check the specific terms and conditions, as not all company branches participate. Those in remote areas like far-flung provinces might have fewer options, but the variety is still worth exploring - you may be pleasantly surprised by what's available in your area!

For me, the biggest revelation was discovering that my local Puregold and Bo's Coffee, both of which I frequently visit, are part of the program. And the surprises didn’t stop there - a nearby school offers a 25% discount on tuition fees! While I’m less impressed by the resorts' advertised “up to 65% off rack rates” (as rack rates are often inflated), there are still plenty of valuable deals if you dig in. Just be aware that many food establishments require a minimum purchase of ₱1,000 to avail of discounts.

I personally have the UOB version of this card and I learned about the companion app for the UOB version of the card called "Hello Pag-IBIG". While I haven’t had the chance to try it yet, it seems like an intriguing addition that could further enhance the card’s utility. I just found out about this when I was researching the perks of the card for this article.
